Police searching for alleged shooting suspect in New Castle
Police in New Castle are searching for a man accused of shooting another man on Sunday evening.
The New Castle Police Department says that 29-year-old Alexander Minnich is accused of shooting another man with a rifle on Sunday evening along Butler Avenue.
The man who was shot was taken to a hospital in Youngstown, Ohio, according to police.
Following the shooting, police say officers surrounded the home where they believed Minnich may have been.
The Lawrence County Critical Incident Response Team was also called to the scene. Officers made their way into the home, but Minnich wasn't there, police said.
Anyone with information about Minnich or where he may be is asked to call the New Castle Police Dispatch Center at 724-656-9300.
Police say Minnich will be facing charges including attempted homicide and should be considered armed and dangerous.
